The brand strategy for this important festival includes the visit of the Chicas Águila 2010 (the 2010 Águila Girls) to more than 100 establishments throughout the city, and their appearance in the Batalla de Flores (Battle of the Flowers) carnival parade (Saturday, February 13th). They will appear aboard the themed ‘La Pollera Colorá’ (the colorful Colombian traditional dress) Águila carnival float, to pay tribute to the famous 'cumbia' (Colombian folk music) song that is celebrating 50 years since its composition by the master Wilson Choperena. This famous melody has been immortalized by the Carnival of Barranquilla as one of the songs that identifies Colombia on the world stage.
To honor the life and work of the master Choperena, on Wednesday the 10th February, in the El Prado hotel in Barranquilla, Águila beer will pay tribute to this iconic figure, to thank him for his invaluable contribution to the traditions and folklore of Colombia.
For the first time ever at the Carnival, at the Concierto de la Cerveza (Beer Concert), which starts at 6:00 p. m. on Wednesday in the Estadio Romelio Martínez (Romelio Martínez Stadium), Águila will present the reggaeton artists Daddy Yankee, Chino y Nacho, Felipe Peláez and Iván Villazón along with other invited artists. This is guaranteed to make sure that the party goers enjoy the festivities and reflect the joy and happiness that this brand represents, and has continued to represent, since it was launched in Barranquilla in 1913.
Special limited edition Águila beer commemorative cans to make sure you enjoy the Carnival “at the rhythm of the La Pollera Colorá”, activities in more than 1.000 sales points and ticket raffles for the Concierto de la Cerveza and the Metro Concierto de Carnaval (Metro Carnival Concert)–on the 14th of February– are just some of the activities that Águila beer has organized so that their loyal customers can enjoy this traditional party with its unique flavor that is sin igual y siempre igual (“always the same and always the best”). |
