We have destined great part of our resources to supporting sports, thus seeking to promote the training and education of children and youngsters in our society. Aware of the health related importance of practicing sports our contribution also aims at promoting healthy entertainment, and a culture in values that may contribute in all aspects to a better quality of life.
Fair game, friendship and comradeship are some of the values we intend to incorporate into our sponsored tournaments both at professional and fan levels.
We especially emphasize on the child population because we believe that this way we contribute in training better men and women in our countries.
We promote national and international events, new talents and sports clubs, offering our sportsmen and youths the possibility to participate in prestigious championships.
The “PonyFútbol” program is one of the local actions in which we have been working for more than fifteen years.
It is a program whose main objective is to offer children in popular neighborhoods better opportunities in life and optimal training. In 1987, through our subsidiary – Cervecería Unión – we decided to support the “PonyFútbol Tournament” that has become today a national championship. In this sports event we have children participating in ages from nine to thirteen from the lower income populations, who have turned soccer into an alternative to make good use of their spare time.
During 2004, more than 695 youngsters participated and our commitment includes the donation of uniforms, the umpire for games, hydration of the players and administrative support of the Sports Corporation called “Los Paisitas.” We have thus benefited more than 11 thousand children who have found new options for their recreation while gathering families and community members.
